Mar Ijsel Villegas is a Mexican artist based in London. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art  from Loughborough University and has recently completed a Master’s degree in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art.

Positioned at the intersection of autobiographical contemporary theory and traditional ceramic botanical art, Mar’s practice explores narratives through intricate botanical small sculptures. Shaped by repetition and ritual, she creates intimate porcelain forms that appear on the verge of breaking, yet resiliently stand. Flowers and petals serve as both offerings and vessels of human experience. Through them, Mar silently re-tells her story, opening space for viewers to reflect and find their own insights behind the work.
